FAQ

Good questions

Everything people ask us before their first session. If yours isn't here, just email us.

Where exactly is the Cave?

We're inside Athletes Acceleration at 4223 W 96th St, Indianapolis, IN 46268. Park in the lot and come through the main entrance; the Cave is through the lobby hallway.

Who is it for?

Boys and girls of every age and experience level, from first-time players in Lacrosse 101 to experienced players dialing in their shot. Coaches use it for lessons, clinics and small group work.

What should I bring?

A stick, turf shoes or sneakers with no metal cleats, and a water bottle. Boys should bring a helmet and gloves, since we want to practice the way we play. Some drills call for full pads, and goalies should always be fully padded up. For Open Cave drop-in sessions the protective gear is required: boys need a helmet and girls need goggles, or they can't go on the turf.

How many players fit?

It's built for small groups. Five to ten players is usually the sweet spot depending on age, experience level and the type of lesson or clinic. Shoot-A-Rounds caps at five, and the room handles up to 3v3 in game mode.

Can I run my own sessions here?

Yes. Coaches run lessons and clinics on a revenue share with no rental fees. See the Coach With Us page for how it works.

What is Open Cave?

Drop-in turf time for players who want extra reps, run like stick and puck at the ice rink: no coach and no set drills, just the turf, a goal, balls, the wall ball wall and the speaker. Sessions are 45 minutes, $8 per player, open to boys and girls ages 10 and up, and capped at eight players. It's unstructured, non-contact practice time, so register ahead through LeagueApps. Players under 18 need a parent or guardian to sign the waiver at registration.

When can I book?

Standard hours are Monday to Thursday 8:15 to 10:15 PM, Friday 7:15 to 10:15 PM, Saturday 12:15 to 10:15 PM, and Sunday 7:15 AM to 10:15 PM. Early morning to 4:00 PM is available upon request, and holiday and summer hours may vary.

Do you have sticks for new players?

Yes. If a player is trying lacrosse for the first time, we have gear on hand so they don't need to buy anything to get started.

What's next for Lax Cave?

This one is the start. We want to see how much the Indianapolis lacrosse community gets behind it, partner with great people, and open more training spaces around town, including larger ones. If that sounds interesting to you, whether you coach, run a program, own a building or just want to help, reach out.

How do I get updates?

Subscribe through McFly Lacrosse and we'll send programming, schedules and coach opportunities as they open up.
